Premium Wines | 2003 Shiraz
2003 had a tropical period during Febuary that resulted in a low cropping year.
This 2003 vintage Shiraz was produced from Estate grown, specially selected parcels of old vine Shiraz by the Oliver Family.

This fairly priced Shiraz has juicy blackberry, spice, vanilla and toasty aromas; the palate has full body intense flavour and lovely balance

Deep, earthy McLaren Vale character becomes spicy with air, offering a streak of perfumed lift, a shake of pepper and then chocolate. The palate is supple and soft, full of generous dark berry flavour, meaty richness and spice. Ripe tannins cushion the finish. They roll around, creating superb texture and length. This is the kind of wine that's given McLaren Vale a stellar reputation for full-bodied, juicy Shiraz

An attractive melange of plum, blackberry, mocha and chocolate on a medium-bodied palate with good supporting tannins and oak.

Oliver's Taranga has a proud heritage and a strong connection with McLaren Vale. Although they've only produced wine since 1994, there's the sense of history about their style. Vineyard supremo, Don Oliver, is a fifth generation custodian while winemaker and resident young bright young thing, Corrina Rayment, represents the family's sixth generation. Their vineyards' quality and combined talents are all evident in this handy 2003 shiraz. Deep, earthy McLaren Vale character becomes spicy and builds richness with air, offering a streak of perfumed lift a shake of pepper and then chocolate. The palate is supple and soft, full of generous dark berry flavour, meaty richness and spice. Ripe tannins cushion the finish. They roll around, creating superb texture and length. A stunning follow up to the 2002 vintage...This wine is a testament to the consistently quality of fruit frown by the Olivers. Opaque black crimson colour with black purple hue. Superb perfumed nose of violet, spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. Explosive, mouthfilling palate with flavours of vanilla, confectionary and spice emerging, followed by dark chocolate, liquorice over a layer of black pepper. Exceptionally long aftertaste of vanilla, blackberry and black pepper. Cellar 5-8 years (2010 – 2013)
